Carla Rodríguez and Rosa Colón founded Soda Pop Comics in order to self publish their comics and to be a part of the comic (collecting and self publishing) community of Puerto Rico.
Soda Pop Comics stands out from the very small percentage of women creating comics in Puerto Rico. Carla Rodríguez (writer) and Rosa Colón (illustrator) are the only team of women self publishing locally.
They also support and encourage other women to make comics. The Soda Pop Anthology is a comic zine filled with short comics by other women that found the task of self publishing daunting. Soda Pop Comics gets their stories printed and sell their work at all the local conventions.
